Kia is set to make a significant splash in the electric vehicle market with the debut of its first-ever electric sedan, the EV4, at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.
Expected to launch in 2025, the EV4 aims to position itself as a strong competitor to the Tesla Model 3. Earlier models teased during Kia’s first EV Day in 2023 generated substantial excitement, and the production version reinforces this enthusiasm.
The EV4 will be available in two battery options: 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh, offering prospective buyers an impressive range of 237 miles and 331 miles, respectively.

This comes as Kia targets a price point that begins around $28,000, making it an appealing choice for budget-conscious consumers looking to transition to electric driving.
Kia’s ambitions don’t stop there. Alongside the EV4, the company plans to introduce a midsize electric pickup in North America, with expectations to sell 90,000 units and capture roughly 7% of the market share.
The pickup is designed on a new EV platform, promising “best-in-class interior and cargo space” and advanced features aimed at both city driving and outdoor adventures.
These launches are part of a broader strategy to electrify Kia’s offerings, with the company planning to unveil the EV3, EV5, and its first electric van, the PV5, all within 2023.
By 2030, Kia aims for electrified models to comprise 70% of its sales in North America and plans to sell a total of 2.33 million electrified vehicles globally, including both EVs and hybrids.
As part of its ambitious strategy, Kia intends to lead the mass adoption of electric vehicles with the planned introduction of a volume model, the EV2, anticipated for 2026. This comprehensive approach represents Kia’s commitment to shaping the future of sustainable automotive technology.
