Leak: Windows Phone 8.1 will feature gesture keyboard

Last week reported on some of the upcoming features in Windows Phone 8.1 and today we have news that a gesture keyboard is coming. The keyboard’s swipe gestures are similar to what we’ve seen in Android’s default keyboard, SwiftKey, and Swype.

UnleashThePhones has video of the new keyboard, showing the new predictive suggestions. The Verge also has sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans that corroborate this news.
One interesting feature shown in the video is the ability to suggest emoticons for moods when you swipe words like “happy.” If this leak does turn out to be true, it should help Windows Phone 8.1 users type much faster and with one thumb. Check it out for yourself in the video below.
