Although for many it may be under the radar, the reality is that Manor Lords has been a complete success. The video game was released in April of this year in early access, a state in which it has managed to sell more than two million copies worldwide. The figure is impressive, as early access itself means that the game is far from having completed its development and needs updates… like the one we now have on our hands.
Slavic Magic has announced on Steam that a major update is coming for the game. To begin with, Manor Lords will introduce two new maps for players to enjoy, and the existing buildings in the game will also be improved. In this way, buildings and new maps create a perfect symbiosis.
Regarding mechanics, some game settings have also been modified. For example, the system for delivering water and beer to settlements is now different, as it aims to optimize the use of wells and taverns, respectively. On the other hand, this is also linked to the markets, where three different wealth distribution systems have been tested to see which is the most optimal, in addition to being able to filter the types of trade based on the goods being transported.
Manor Lords is a title being developed by a single person, Greg Styczen. During all this time, the developer has managed to improve his production after several years working on his game. Thanks to all this work, Manor Lords has been nominated for best video game of the year in the category of Best Debut Indie Game and Best Sim/Strategy.
