The Microsoft ecosystem is undergoing significant changes in recent months, and more are yet to come. More features will continue to be removed, as Microsoft intends to get rid of applications and elements that have been underused by users to ensure that there are no programs in the system that diminish the quality of its other products and services.
The intention of getting rid of certain applications by Microsoft was already known, such as in the case of Tips, or the expected abandonment of Cortana, which will happen sooner or later. Now, however, the service that will be leaving is the step reminder, which was widely used (though not enough) to provide tutorials for the steps of any specific action.
One step forward for Microsoft, one step to the side for Pasos
The operation of the step recorder was more than simple: the system recorded the PC screen, and that served to carry out easy-to-follow instructions for performing certain actions that might have a certain degree of complexity for users less accustomed to using a PC. However, this tool allowed screen recording for many other purposes.
In this way, Windows 11 continues to trim failed features, which it prefers to tuck away in a drawer rather than keep them visible. With this seemingly contradictory move, Microsoft aims to present an image of efficient services aligned with user interests. Displaying obsolete or unused services would go against the image they want to project.

Windows 11 and its working ecosystem
It is evident that Microsoft strives to provide users with a comprehensive, high-quality service that meets all their needs. However, it had been a long time since they put so much effort into their work ecosystems, which are being updated at a rapid pace. At the same time, efforts are being made to create synergies between these applications and Microsoft Copilot, the company’s AI that aims to enhance the experience of all users with its intelligent assistance in various services.
Microsoft Copilot has been making itself known in recent days as a key component for the present and future of the company. Artificial Intelligence has been a segment of technology where we have witnessed a great race among various companies to create the most advanced iterations possible. In Microsoft, there’s Copilot, in Google, there’s Bard, in OpenAI, there’s ChatGPT, and even Elon Musk’s team has created Grok for implementation on X (Twitter) or in their Tesla vehicles.
