Microsoft focuses on Copilot when unveiling new Surface products with AI

We all know that artificial intelligence is the future, but in the case of Microsoft, it is the present and their business model in the very short term. And the latest news proves it.

Microsoft has unveiled a series of products with integrated AI, such as the new Surface Pro 10 and the Surface Laptop 6, with their chatbot Copilot as the main feature.

During the live broadcast on Thursday, March 21, Microsoft highlighted the features of Copilot, especially its growing capabilities to perform Windows system tasks for its users.

What is this new feature that Surface brings

In Windows 11, users will be able to switch between “Work” and “Web” modes using the Copilot button. The “Work” button brings the capabilities of Microsoft 365 from Copilot to the Windows interface.

Microsoft is also investing in cloud PCs accessed through Windows 365, using them as a platform for Copilot. The application used to access these cloud PCs is appropriately called Windows app.

Microsoft reports that, since its exclusive launch at Microsoft Ignite 2023 in November, the Windows app has accumulated over three million hours of active usage.

The Washington-based corporation is optimistic that its partner Copilot AI will significantly save time and reduce stress in work environments.

It is said that the Surface Pro 10 offers the most advanced Copilot features in a portable design for mobile workers, while the Surface Laptop 6 combines the computing power typical of a desktop PC with the convenience of a lightweight laptop.

Users will have the opportunity to customize the device themselves, optimize energy performance to extend battery life, and receive suggestions from Copilot to improve performance and troubleshoot issues.

The AI enhancements for Windows 365 will also help increase device and organizational security through single sign-on, cloud PC encryption, and zero trust access capabilities.

The Pro 10 now uses a neural processing unit (NPU) that is the engine behind all the latest integrated features of Copilot AI. This frees up capacity in the main processor to handle the tasks that matter.

It also incorporates advanced inking technology, which supposedly helps organize notes into structured documents through Copilot. This is accompanied by Copilot suggestions designed to streamline workflow and improve productivity.
