For horror film enthusiasts, the name Mike Flanagan is synonymous with undisputed quality. The director of films like Gerald’s Game, Hush or Doctor Dream already made a name for himself in genre cinema. But he went even further thanks to his trilogy of unbeatable Netflix series: The Curse of Hill House, The Curse of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass.
All of these series are rated as the best horror series not only on Netflix, but on any platform, and although Flanagan had a small setback with the irregular The Midnight Club, there is no doubt that the filmmaker is unique in the genre. Now, the director is about to release what will be his last original series for Netflix, as he will be leaving for Amazon Prime Video after finishing his contract. The title of the series is The Fall of the House of Usher, and we can already see some images that promise absolute terror.

Eight chapters of pure terror
The eight episodes of the series will arrive on October 12 on the streaming platform, and it is an adaptation of one of Edgar Allan Poe’s lesser-known stories. As usual in Flanagan, he has taken the story to transport it to the present day, and with how well he did with Bly Manor and Hill House it is clear that the story promises.
Netflix’s official synopsis doesn’t reveal too much about the plot yet, but you can read it below, “An unnamed narrator approaches Usher’s house on a ‘dull, dark and silent day.’ This house, owned by his childhood friend Roderick Usher, is gloomy and mysterious.”
The series will feature Mark Hamill in a special role still reserved by the director, and he will be joined by regular actors and actresses in Flanagen productions such as Bruce Greenwood, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas and Zach Gilford.
