Are you one of those who continues playing titles from previous years and has barely touched the releases of 2024? You are not alone. The latest statistics from Steam Replay 2024 have confirmed that only 15% of players have invested their time in games released this year.
According to the data provided by the Valve platform, players have dedicated 47% of their time to games released in the last seven years. On the other hand, 37% have chosen to enjoy classic games, which are those released eight years ago or more.
It is worth remembering that 2023 was a great year for the world of video games, at least in terms of releases. In fact, it holds the record for being the year with the highest number of games with reviews over 90 in the last two decades.
On the other hand, the community also loves returning to what they already know. Just take a look at which are the two most played games on Steam right now, Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2. Other games, like Fortnite or GTA 5, continue to enjoy a large, loyal, and established community, even after many years.
Even so, these are figures that continue to impress, especially if we consider the great success that titles like Helldivers 2 or even the recent Marvel Rivals have had this year, which gather thousands of simultaneous players.
If you want to know how your Steam statistics were this year, you just need to go to the platform and log in with your user account. This way, you can check which segment of players you belong to, whether the 15% or the 85%.
