It happens time and time again. You have about an hour or so to kill, so you look for something to watch on Netflix. You search and search for shows and movies to watch, but nothing tickles your fancy. Suddenly, you realize 40 minutes have passed by, and you lost your shot.
First discovered by Android Police, Netflix is testing a feature that will allow users to randomly watch an episode of a show.

This tool may not be suitable for every show. You could randomly get sent to an episode of “Breaking Bad” and have no idea what’s happening. On the other hand, you could get thrown into a random episode of “Jeopardy” and have no issue.
“We are testing the ability for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app,” a Netflix spokesperson told Variety. “These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.”
It is yet to been seen whether this feature will be available on all devices, as it was only discovered on the Android app. Whether or not this tool will become a permanent feature is up in the air.
