Alone in the Dark is the father of all survival horror and not without good reason. It is one of the great classics of horror games and although its modern iterations have had their ups and downs, it has never delivered a game that is less than interesting. That’s why the announcement that it’s getting a reboot, that it has a release date and, best of all, that we can try it out for free before its release, is something we can only celebrate.
Alone in the Dark: Prologue is a completely free to play prologue that shows the atmosphere and gameplay of the title without making any spoiler of the main story. It is available for download on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Steam.
Alone in the Dark is a reboot of the 1992 game of the same name, which in this case will star Emily Harwood and Edward Carnby. Characters that will be given voice, appearance and their acting skills by the famous actors Jodie Comer and David Harbour, known for their roles in Killing Eve and Stranger Things respectively. Each of these characters will have different perspectives on the story, so it will be necessary to play the game with both characters to know all the facts.
The game will be released on October 25 at a price of 59.99€ on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. Until then, you can immerse yourself in its evocative mix of horror, investigation, puzzles and combat with the great playable prologue they have designed to make the wait shorter.
