If you’ve ever seen a foldable phone, you’ve likely gone from disbelief to curiosity. Foldable smartphones are highly intriguing and a twist that OnePlus couldn’t afford to miss out on… although since joining Oppo, their level of innovation has hit rock bottom.
We are in the era of foldable phones. And it’s a good thing because they are amazing and a true revolution in an industry that had been stagnant for too many years. That’s why almost every brand has its own foldable model.
However, we have been eagerly awaiting OnePlus to unveil its foldable phone, and while we know it will be released this year and we have seen renders of it, the name has been somewhat of a mystery until now.
OnePlus Open, for friends of simplicity
It seems that OnePlus has decided to name its foldable device OnePlus Open, which is somewhat unusual considering previous rumors suggested it would be called OnePlus Fold or OnePlus V Fold. However, the company has apparently opted for a different and unique name.
The information comes from Max Jambor, who has been accurate with OnePlus-related leaks in the past, and he also has some evidence to support this claim. It appears that the company has filed trademarks for several names, including OnePlus Open.
At the moment, nothing is confirmed, so we could see a change in this narrative, and OnePlus might opt for a simpler naming convention compared to other companies.
As for the release date, the OnePlus Open is scheduled for the second half of 2023, so we should expect to learn more about the device in the coming months and weeks.
