Orbea has officially unveiled its latest entry into the electric road bike market, the Denna, designed for cyclists who venture beyond paved surfaces.
The Denna is a gravel-optimized e-bike that combines versatility, power, and range, building upon Orbea’s established lineage with models like the Gain and Terra.
At the heart of the Denna is the RS Gen2 RC system, a customized version of Shimano’s EP platform that provides a seamless riding experience. The system adjusts power delivery based on rider input, offering a more natural feel.
Combines versatility, power, and range: Pricing will vary depending on specifications
With an impressive torque output of 85 Nm, the Denna excels at climbing steep hills and navigating rough terrain.
The bike features two distinct power modes: Gravel mode, which is optimized for smoother gravel roads, and Gravel+ mode, designed for looser surfaces that require additional torque. Furthermore, users can customize their riding experience via the Shimano e-Tube app, adjusting the settings to suit their preferences.
The Denna’s OMR carbon frame promises both stiffness and compliance, making it ideal for uneven terrain while maintaining efficient power transfer. It supports tire clearance of up to 50c, accommodating a range of riding styles and conditions. Additionally, the frame geometry is tailored for stability, responsiveness, and consistent handling across various sizes.
A 420Wh battery powers the Denna, offering up to 3.5 kilometers (2.5 miles) of elevation gain in Eco mode, with an optional 210Wh range extender for those looking to explore further without the weight burden. Accessories like fenders and multiple water bottle mounts enhance its practicality for long-distance adventures.
For a personalized touch, the bike can be tailored through Orbea’s MyO customization program. Pricing will vary depending on specifications, ensuring options for a broad spectrum of cyclists. Joseba Arizaga, Orbea’s Road Product Manager, emphasized that Denna aims to break down barriers and redefine eRoad cycling as we know it.
