The overhauled BlackBerry World is now live and aims to the portal for BlackBerry users to fill all of their entertainment needs. This is perfect timing for the launch of BlackBerry 10 today. BlackBerry World features music, movies, apps, and TV shows with pricing that’s similar to competitors like iTunes and Amazon.
Music albums can be purchased for $8-12. Individual tracks cost from $0.99-$1.29. TV shows can be had for $1.99 per episode. Movies are quite expensive and will run from $10-$20. Users will also have the ability to rent films for $4 each. Movies will hit the store on the same day of its DVD release.
While the new BlackBerry World is a nice addition for BlackBerry users, its offerings just aren’t as fleshed out as its competitors. It’s still early days so hopefully BlackBerry can lock down more content.
