The Kings League is hotter than ever. The football league chaired by Gerard Piqué has just reached its Third Day this weekend, and it has done so with what the former FC Barcelona footballer promised above all else: a lot of show.

After last week Shakira launched, almost by surprise, a session with Bizarrap that has broken dozens of records and has served to launch all kinds of barbs at Piqué, everyone wondered how the athlete was going to react. And the framework to do so was, precisely, the new day of the Kings League.

As expected, his reaction has not been long in coming. The first thing he did was appear with a Casio watch (with which Shakira compared his new girlfriend, Clara Chía) and explain that he was a new sponsor of the League. But it is that, on the day of the match, Piqué arrived on the pitch driving a Twingo, the car with which Shakira also compared the footballer’s new romance.

Although he hasn’t given it much thought, as his actions have already clearly shown his intentions, Piqué has overshadowed this day and has taken the opportunity to make his Twitch league grow even more. But beyond what happens with his president, the day has had moments that once again make it an interesting alternative to the Professional Football League (much to the dismay of Tebas).

Who is Joker? The hidden footballer appears

One of the most interesting mechanics of the Kings League is to integrate a player number 12 in each team. This player is a surprise that is not revealed until the day he appears, and can be used as a wild card to destabilize a match.

The most outstanding announcement of the Third Day was that Kunisports, the team chaired by Kun Agüero, was going to exclusively present its player number 12, whom they presented as Joker. Finally, that’s how it has been, and the revelation (although somewhat sung) could not have been more spectacular: the Joker was Kun Agüero himself.

There is no doubt that this was the funniest moment of the Day. Besides, it was not in vain. Kun came out when his team was down two goals and, with his presence on the field (and a goal he dedicated to Ibai himself) they managed to tie the game. Finally, Porcinos FC (Ibai’s team) won in the final penalty shootout, but Kunisports was about to snatch the victory.

The rest of the parties were not far behind either. 1K FC (Iker Casillas‘ team) defeated Jijantes again, this time, and became the undisputed first place. And Saiyans FC (TheGrefg‘s team) also won again, rising as second in the leaderboard, tied on points with the first.

These were all the results of the day:

Jijantes FC 3 – 5 1K FC

Rayo de Barcelona 2 – 2 xBuyer Team – Penalties: 0-3 for xBuyer Team

Saiyans FC 5 – 1 Ultimate Mostoles

Kunisports 2 – 2 Porcinos FC – Penalties: 3-4 for Porcinos FC

Los Troncos FC 3 – 2 PIO FC

El Barrio 1 – 4 Annihiladores FC

The Kings League J3 audience

For all the reasons that we have been announcing, this day has been the most anticipated since the Kings League began. Between the Piqué show and the Kun Agüero show, as well as the great matches that have been played, it was foreseeable that the audience would skyrocket again. And effectively it has been like that.

The Kings League has managed, this weekend, to unite 1.300.000 unique viewers (1 million 300 thousand) at its audience peak, which came when Kun Agüero took off his Joker mask and revealed his identity. Its average audience, moreover, has been 654.000 viewers, far exceeding the already great record of the previous week.

The Kings League continues to grow non-stop. We’ll see if they can continue to overcome once the “pique” de Piqué stops growing, although at the moment it doesn’t look like he’s going to leave “to sink”.
