Rocket League, the craziest game that mixes off-road cars with soccer, continues to grow and rise as one of the most played eSports of the moment. Despite its simple gameplay, it is highly addictive for anyone who tries it, and thanks to its constant updates it keeps expanding its range of possibilities.
The latest of these updates comes on the occasion of the SuperBowl 2023. The macro sporting event to be played during the early hours of February 12-13 will have Rihanna’s return to the stage as its main attraction, but with the entire United States keeping an eye on what is happening, it is not surprising that all brands (and video games) are taking advantage of the opportunity to promote themselves.
Rocket League has presented, taking advantage of the event, up to 32 decals of the NFL teams for its four most popular cars. In addition, as announced on their official website, they have added a thematic pack in their store, available to all players. But the most important of its new features is the inclusion of a new game mode: the MTL Gridiron.
MTL Gridiron returns for the Super Bowl
The most outstanding novelty of Rocket League for the Super Bowl is the return of MTL Gridiron. This is a game mode different from the usual one in that it mimics NFL games. As explained, it allows you to catch the ball by touching it or throw it by dodging, score 3 points with a field goal and score all 7 points for a touchdown. It even allows you to break enemy defensive lines through demolitions.
If you want to go beyond the usual gameplay, this is your perfect opportunity to play Rocket League in a different way. A delight for fans of speed and hardcore gameplay.
New NFL Player Decals
Another great new feature of this update is the ability to play with your favorite NFL players. If you are a Superbowl fan, you can support your star teams by wearing their decals on Rocket League’s main cars.
The NFL decal lot includes three big-name soccer stars, which are available in the in-game store for 700 credits:
- Boston Scott, the running back for the Eagles. Decal: Giant Killer.
- Mecole Hardman Jr. of Kansas City. Decal: The Jet.
- Cam Jordan of New Orleans. Decal: Levelz Me.
In addition, they have added an extra decal for 650 credits called Referee, which is part of the NFL Super Bowl LVII Pack. The pack includes the following (although everything can be purchased separately:
