Diablo IV has been well-received by both the press and players. That’s why today we had to bring you the updates from a season that has just premiered: Diablo IV Season 2, which will take us to battle vampires in Sanctuary.
Initially exclusive to Battle.net on PC for four months, Diablo IV is now available on Steam starting today, October 17th, the same day Season of Blood, the game’s Season 2, begins.
The Steam version of the game will support cross-play and cross-progression across platforms, including Steam achievements, and the option to invite friends through Steam’s friend lists. However, a Battle.net account is still required to play.
The history and new content of Diablo IV’s Season of Blood
In Season 2, players will embark on a new line of seasonal missions teaming up with Erys, a vampire hunter, to confront a new threat in Sanctuary.
Erys, voiced by actress Gemma Chan, will join players in hunting down a vampire master responsible for a series of murders. As players progress, they will also contract vampirism.
Additionally, there will be a new seasonal event called Blood Harvest, similar to Helltides, which will provide a resource-rich area for gathering necessary items.
Vampiric Powers of the Blood Season
In Season 2, 22 vampiric powers are introduced, which players can unlock using a new resource called Potent Blood. These powers can be equipped through a specific tab on the character screen, and each character can use up to five powers at once.
However, players need specific types of Covenant Armor (Ferocity, Divinity, and Eternity) to activate some powers, creating a strategic layer in the game.
These Vampiric Powers come in two varieties: Lesser Vampiric Powers and Greater Vampiric Powers, each offering various benefits.
The Season of Blood introduces new final bosses
Season 2 introduces five new final bosses, each associated with specific endgame activities. These bosses grant unique items and exclusive cosmetics and are accessible to characters both in the Eternal Realm and the Seasonal Realms.
Players will encounter new bosses such as the Echo of Varshan and Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, among others.
Changes in XP and level-up speed for the Blood Season
To reduce the difficulty, Season 2 will offer faster level-up speeds, especially for characters above level 50, with increased XP rewards.
Changes in XP bonuses will contribute to the overall acceleration to reach level 100. Players will benefit from XP bonuses for playing at higher world levels, using elixirs and seasonal blessings, which will now be multiplicative in Season 2.
