With the change of season coming in September, the first day of the month sees Pokémon Go celebrate the Season of Light festival. The event kicks off several new features, such as new Pokémon, raids, and legendaries. There’s also something new in the Special Research department that you won’t want to miss.

Let’s start with the new exciting Season of the Light festival that starts today, announced with the trailer below. It showcases the stars, sun, and moon, but very little about what will happen in Pokémon Go. Thankfully, you have us to cover that news for you.

Professor Willow is making a return to Pokémon Go this season. We’ve also seen mention of a Legendary Pokemon Cosmog that will appear in the game for the first time. As usual, we’ll have new Raids appear, and this season it features Deoxys in various forms. You should also pay attention to the Research Lab, which will present you with Medicham.

Every season in Pokémon Go usually has different creatures showing up in the wild. There are about five to six for each distance or range from your home. You can read all the upcoming names on the official blog, as I’m not going to bore you with the details.

What I do want to share with you is the Psychic Spectacular event taking place on September 3, 2022. Inkay shares the spotlight in Pokémon Go this weekend, with the shiny version as a rare encounter. I’ll definitely be hunting for it on my tablet, but I’ve heard it’s going to be challenging to find.

Let’s just hope you find Watchog. According to the latest research, it’s the least favorite Pokémon among fans. The Season of Light seems to promise only new and exciting creatures, so I hope you have success in catching and hatching a few unique ones.
