iOS users will soon be able to send SMS messages for free to other Apple devices. But Android users have reason to be cheerful too, because a new messaging service has been released that will allow them to send and receive SMS messages on any computer!

Texty is a new service that syncs SMS with your Android phone allowing you to send and receive text messages on your computer, using your current phone number. You receive an instant desktop alert when a new message arrives, allowing you to keep in touch without pulling your phone out of your pocket, or when you don’t have your device to hand. And you can’t say that about Apple’s iMessage, can you?
