It looks like Quantic Dream Games will be keeping as much of its trademark storytelling principles with the upcoming Star Wars Eclipse game. While the developers want you to know they made it with the same fundamental elements, it wants to venture into the action-adventure genre. What you can expect is a beautiful marriage between detailed storylines and intense combat scenes.

The latest Star Wars Eclipse trailer says it all. If the deep eyes aren’t a dead giveaway, just look at the attention to detail. There’s going to be a lengthy plot with character development and more. While that’s normal for Quantic Dream Games, it’s introducing a combat system not seen in its previous games.

If the company’s name is alien to you, I’d like to draw your attention to games like Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human, and Beyond: Two Souls. The first title in that list alone is enough to show you how much they love to focus on stories in games. This is something I can’t wait to see in Star Wars Eclipse, being a lover of tales, the developer’s games, and the Star Wars franchise in general.

Star Wars Eclipse

What I’m waiting for is for someone to make a Star Wars game that’s like No Man’s Sky or the upcoming Starfield by Bethesda. If there is one, I haven’t found it yet. I want the freedom of getting in my spaceship and traveling to distant SW stars and galaxies while enjoying my own adventure. I don’t even care in which era they place it.

Dreams aside, I’ll be watching for more news on Star Wars Eclipse in time to come.
