We have to say it from the beginning: there is no Starfield FOV command. However, you can change it if you do it at the right time!

Bethesda Game Studios’ highly anticipated space RPG, Starfield, has finally descended upon us, offering a universe teeming with customization, player choice, and uncharted territories waiting to be explored.

In a game that invites players to immerse themselves in the depths of a new world, there’s one feature that can significantly enhance your galactic odyssey – a proper Field of View, or FOV for short. But the burning question on every Starfield adventurer’s mind is, can you change your FOV in this cosmic wonderland? Fear not, we have the answers you seek.

Is there a console Starfield FOV command?

Again, the quest for a Starfield FOV console command might initially seem straightforward, but it’s a bit more complex than it appears. There’s no known console command to adjust your FOV in Starfield yet.

Starfield FOV on PC

For PC gamers, there’s a glimmer of hope when it comes to customizing your Field of View, but there’s a catch. While exploring Starfield in third-person mode, you can indeed alter your FOV. Simply use your mouse wheel to cycle through the preset FOV settings to perform this adjustment.

However, the cosmic conundrum arises when you’re gallivanting through the stars in first-person. Unfortunately, you’re tethered to the default FOV, as there are no sliders nestled within the menus to tweak this vital setting.

The good news is that Bethesda has a track record of post-launch improvements, so there’s a possibility that a FOV slider may grace the PC version of Starfield in the future. After all, previous Bethesda titles like Skyrim, Fallout 4 (via console commands), and Fallout 76 have all offered ways to tailor your FOV to your liking. The future looks promising, but the stars haven’t quite aligned for FOV customization in first-person mode.

Starfield FOV on Xbox

Starfield’s voyage also extends to Xbox adventurers, but similar restrictions apply. When you’re exploring the cosmos in third-person on your Xbox, you have the power to adjust your FOV by simply pressing the View button (or screenshot button) on your controller.

However, the celestial limitations manifest when you venture into the first-person realm. Just like their PC counterparts, Xbox players are bound to the default FOV setting, with no slider to provide liberation.

While there’s no guarantee, it remains a possibility that a FOV slider could be introduced to the Xbox version of Starfield in the future, offering first-person explorers a newfound sense of perspective among the stars.

In the grand cosmos of Starfield, the Field of View may be fixed in first-person mode for now, but hope gleams on the horizon. Bethesda’s penchant for post-launch enhancements could mean a more expansive universe for FOV customization in the future.

Until then, explorers must embrace the cosmic vistas with the FOV they are given and continue their quest to uncover the mysteries of this sprawling, interstellar RPG.
