Rocksteady Studios’ director, Sefton Hill, took to Twitter to announce a slight delay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It originally had a vague launch date for 2022, but it seems more time is needed to perfect the game. You can now expect to possibly see it arrive in the first half of 2023.
We haven’t seen a Rocksteady game since Batman: Arkham Knight. It seems like the company wants to remain in the DC Universe and that Warner Bros is happy with the content so far. WB had already given some indication that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may be delayed. Well, it appears like it’s official now, we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Warner Bros shouldn’t be too concerned with this delay, though. It has plenty of gaming content coming in this year, so it won’t hurt its pockets too badly. Some big titles we’re looking forward to include LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Hogwarts Legacy. We’re also expecting Gotham Knights to appear in October later this year.
To be honest, we’d rather see the launch delayed and more time perfecting Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League than to receive a subpar game sooner. We’ve seen too many titles launch when expected, only for them to deliver a poor performance. Sure, they’ve received updates and patches, and they may be fantastic now. However, launch day sets the first impression for reviews, and publishers would want those to shine for the games to sell well.
Speaking of the wizarding world, be sure to check out Sony’s gameplay reveal for Hogwarts Legacy.
