If you are a fan of Mario and Nintendo you have to be excited, yes or yes, for ‘Super Mario Bros Wonder‘. After years of ‘New Super Mario Bros’, finally the company wanted to do something different with this branch of the character: crazy animations, impossible powers and much more that we learned yesterday in the Nintendo Direct. On October 20 will be available and, although Mario and Luigi have new voices after the retirement of Charles Martinet, we will still enjoy as the first day… Especially because there will be an unexpected twist in the dubbing, which will come completely in Spanish for the first time.

An elephant flies

For the first time in the franchise, leaving aside the wonderful and misunderstood ‘Super Mario Land’, Mario and company (we will have up to 12 playable characters, but, once again, without Waluigi) will go to another place, the Flower Kingdom, where Bowser has stolen the power of the Flower Wonders. When he’s not kidnapping princesses he gets bored, apparently.

Across 7 areas, characters will have three new power-ups: Elephant, Drill and Bubble Flower, which look downright hilarious. Riding an elephant on top of a Yoshi is automatic fun. Plus, the Wonder Flowers will make the game look like something out of ‘The Yellow Submarine’, the psychedelic Beatles movie. There may be other, perhaps more successful examples, but we leave them to your imagination.

In addition, each character will be able to assign himself a badge at the start of each level, which will give him access to new areas and help him overcome obstacles that he would otherwise not be able to. For example, a parachute hat, an underwater dolphin boost or a spear launcher to make sure you don’t fall even once. The badges look like they will add a touch of strategy to a game that, as always, will also think of the little ones by using the Yoshis and Caco Gazapo as characters that can only die by falling or touching the lava.

Of course, there will be multiplayer up to four people and things look more fun and crazy than ever. It remains to know the duration of the game and if at the end, as usual, another new world opens before us only for those who best master the Switch controllers. In times of ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ and ‘GTA 6’ sometimes it’s always a joy to go back to what always works. mamma mia mia!
