The indie phenomenon of 2024, Buckshot Roulette, created by Mike Klubnika, has captured the public’s attention and is now preparing to make the leap to Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass. This game, which has accumulated over 73,600 extremely positive reviews on Steam, initially gained popularity on TikTok, where users and content creators began sharing their experiences after participating in this intriguing title.
Buckshot Roulette is a Russian roulette-style gaming experience where participants face off in a sinister setting against an opponent, with shots that can be real or blank. This imposing format not only requires precise aim but also meticulous strategy based on the number of “safe” bullets available in each game, adding a layer of tension and excitement to the gameplay.
The most successful indie game of last year, now on Game Pass
The confirmation of its launch on Xbox was given during the ID@Xbox event, held in the context of IGN FanFest 2025, where it was highlighted that the game will be integrated into the extensive Xbox Game Pass catalog. Although a specific release date has not yet been announced, there is an expectation that the launch will not be delayed. This marks an important milestone for the initial development of this game, which had been conceived for PC.
In addition to Buckshot Roulette, the event also highlighted Balatro, a poker roguelike now available on Xbox Game Pass, which indicates that 2024 is shaping up to be a standout year for indie titles on the platform. With 94% positive reviews, both games have redefined the gaming experience in a year full of surprises for fans of digital entertainment.
