Brendan Greene, known as the creator of one of the most successful titles in the video game industry, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), is about to launch his new project. Prologue: Go Wayback! will be available in early access in a few hours, allowing players to experience an almost complete version of the game. This survival title is set in a procedurally generated environment that spans 64 km² and features roguelike elements, where players must reach a weather station while facing various environmental challenges.
A survival game that promises to revolutionize the genre
The technical aspects of Prologue are remarkably advanced. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game aims to offer visually stunning and realistic environments, thanks to an artificial intelligence system that generates maps quickly and efficiently as part of Project Artemis. This promises to create an immersive experience, where each game will vary based on the randomness of the environment, keeping players on constant alert.
The game’s dynamics include changing weather conditions and a day-night cycle that influences gameplay. Players will need to manage their body temperature against the cold, as well as search for food and drinking water to survive, which adds a level of challenge and realism to the experience. The game’s HUD will be minimalist, forcing users to rely on tools like compasses to navigate this vast open world.
Since it will be released in early access, the price is expected to be reasonable, although it is also likely that players will encounter some bugs during the initial experience, something common in this type of releases. With the launch just hours away, the anticipation within the gaming community is palpable.
