2025 is expected to be a great year for laptops. Specifically, forecasts show that the global laptop market could grow by 4.9%. One of the factors for this increase has been the announced end of support for Windows 10.
According to The Register, laptop sales during 2024 faced difficulties due to the political and economic instability in many countries. On the other hand, the Taiwanese firm TrendForce anticipates a rather moderate recovery towards the end of 2024.
Experts summarize two reasons that are currently limiting computer sales: one is the high prices, and the other is the lack of clarity regarding AI PCs. “Companies want to migrate to AI PCs, but they don’t want to pay a premium since there are still no convincing use cases,” explained Ranjit Atwal, research director at Gartner, to The Register.
For its part, Microsoft continues with its campaign to promote Windows 11. As part of this campaign, the company is deploying full-screen ads on Windows 10 PCs to invite users to upgrade or buy a new computer with Windows 11.
