Volvo is raising the standard of electric mobility with the launch of its new fully electric sedan, the ES90, which is scheduled to be released on March 5.
Considered one of the most technically advanced cars on the market, the ES90 will rely on innovative technology to compete in the crowded electric vehicle segment.
With a range of up to 435 miles (700 km) under the WLTP cycle, the ES90 offers a greater autonomy than any other Volvo model currently available.
A supercharge to conquer them all
Although the range in the EPA estimate is expected to be slightly lower, it still represents a significant improvement compared to its current line, where the EX90 model, for example, has a range of 373 miles (600 km) according to the WLTP.
One of the most notable features of the ES90 is its fast charging capability. Thanks to its advanced 800V electrical system, it can recover more than 185 miles (300 km) of range in just 10 minutes.
According to Anders Bell, chief engineer at Volvo, this technology represents a significant leap towards the complete electrification of the brand, allowing users to charge their vehicle faster and travel greater distances on a single charge.
The ES90 is also distinguished by incorporating a platform with dual NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin computers, which offer 508 trillion operations per second (TOPS), significantly improving computing capacity compared to previous models.
In addition, it will feature various sensors, including lidar, five radars, eight cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, which will allow it to offer advanced safety and assisted driving features.
With its imminent arrival, Volvo promises more details and advancements about this innovative model. The ES90 is expected to redefine the electric sedan segment in the current market.
