In recent years, it has become quite clear that video game adaptations are experiencing a golden age. Beyond occasional disappointments like Borderlands, the work done on series such as Arcane or The Last of Us, and on movies like Super Mario Bros. is restoring confidence in these kinds of adaptations.
However, what no one could have imagined is what Amazon Prime Video has just announced: an anthology animated series based on video games. Produced by the creators of Love, Death & Robots, Secret Level is a series set to premiere on December 10 and will feature up to 15 different video games reflected on the small screen. Its trailer is stunning:
From Kratos to Pac-Man, including Mega Man and Dungeons & Dragons
In the first season of this anthology series, we will see fifteen short films adapting the following video games: Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, PlayStation (various Sony IPs, including God of War), Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40K.
Excited about the presentation of this surprising series, the creator of the studio behind it, Tim Miller — who was also the director of the first Deadpool — has made it clear that his intention is to replicate the success of Love, Death & Robots, but with video games. Additionally, he hopes that the series will have many more seasons, although this will clearly depend on the success of the first one.

Next December, gamers around the world will have a date with Amazon Prime Video to see their dreams come true in the form of adaptations of well-known IPs like Warhammer 40K and Mega Man. This is something we couldn’t have imagined if they had told us a few years ago.
