Initially, it was planned to be released on April 12, 2024, but New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. reportedly sped up the process to have the film premiere in early 2024.
However, due to the strike by the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), the film has been delayed by 10 months. The delay is a result of Warner Bros. reshuffling its release schedule due to the strike.
Sony was one of the first studios to rearrange its calendar and postpone several films, and Warner Bros. followed suit shortly after. Dune: Part 2 was delayed, which caused Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire to move from March to April 12, 2024.
