Red Queen, the serialized adaptation of Juan Gómez-Jurado’s books – the best-selling Spanish author today – will arrive on February 29th on Amazon Prime Video. Now, its trailer has just been released, twenty days before its premiere, and the truth is that it is everything and more than what the fans of the original books imagined:

The series based on the best-selling book in Spain

Reina roja is a thriller starring the wonderful actors Vicky Luengo and Hovik Keuchkerian, known for fictions like Antidisturbios and La casa de papel, respectively. The director, Koldo Serra, has also participated in Money Heist, in addition to working on his own films such as 70 Binladens or Gernika. In his first complete series as a director, he promises to give everything to create an unparalleled tension that matches that of the book.

The series focuses on Atonia Scott (Vicky Luengo), the smartest person on Earth. Her ability allowed her to become the “Red Queen” of a secret and experimental police project, but what seemed like a gift turned into a curse and she ended up losing everything. When the son of a powerful magnate is grotesquely murdered in his mansion, and the daughter of the richest man in Spain is kidnapped, the Red Queen organization springs into action.

Undoubtedly, books have everything to create a disturbing thriller. We will see if the series lives up to it, but from what we have seen so far, it has all the original ingredients plus the added bonus of great performances by the protagonists.
