However, not everything is lost in teenage fiction, or at least that’s what Amazon Prime Video believes, which has just premiered on its platform The Academy.
Taking football as the main theme, La Academia transports us to the training center of Apolo FC, one of the best teams in the world, where boys and girls fight for a shared dream: to succeed in the first team. It is here where we see the story of Adrián, captain of the male youth team and son of a former club legend, whose position in the team is threatened when his coach Willy discovers Jairo, recently arrived from Colombia, with innate talent.

Adrián’s story is complemented by several others that deal with issues such as feminism, homophobia, and racism in the world of football, problems that arise daily in this environment. Thus, taking La Masía from FC Barcelona as an example, the series manages to tell quite interesting stories that can generate more than one debate.
