Heroes never die, for a modest price

The Moth Meta, one of the most controversial periods in Overwatch history, returns to Overwatch Classic from February 4 to 18, allowing players to relive the 6v6 experience in its old format. This return has generated both excitement and skepticism among the player community, especially due to the prominent role of Mercy. Because Mercy is not only a guardian angel who heals, but she can also quickly resurrect players with a cooldown on her resurrections and the ability to revive two team members with her ultimate, which lasts 20 seconds.

Put a Mercy in Your Life
The inclusion of Mercy in this meta is no small feat, as her resurrection ability often unbalances matches, making her an almost essential figure in every team, and of course, heavily criticized by many. This was highlighted by the developers through the official Overwatch X account, recalling the experience of a game where Mercy’s presence determined success or failure. Alongside Mercy, it will also be possible to play with Doomfist as a DPS hero and Orisa, who returns with her Shield Generator and the gravitational energy sphere.
Despite the nostalgia that Overwatch Classic brings, some players reflect that the gameplay in the current 5v5 format has improved compared to the past. The Moth Meta can cause frustration because an overpowered hero can make eliminations redundant, notes an analyst, reflecting the concerns of many about the game’s balance during this period.
The community is divided, with some celebrating the arrival of this classic state and others expressing concern about the chaos that may arise. As the start date approaches, the question remains whether players will be able to enjoy without the Moth Meta overshadowing their strategic skills.
