Microsoft says goodbye to three programs that have been with us for years on Windows. We are referring to Cortana, Tips, and WordPad, which will no longer be available in the next update of Windows 11.
This was shared by Microsoft itself in a blog post published last Thursday, announcing that patch 24H2 (26100.712) is now available for Insiders through the preview channel.

The truth is that the end of Cortana is not something that catches us off guard. Microsoft already removed it in preview version 25967 of Windows 11. Later, we officially learned that it would no longer receive support through a post published on the Microsoft website in June 2023. Sadly, Cortana never had the support of users and now it will be replaced by Copilot, the AI-powered assistant.
The case of WordPad is a bit sadder, as it has been accompanying Windows since 1995. However, programs like Word itself or Google Docs have made WordPad not quite fit in today’s world. Finally, the company also informed users that the Tips app was obsolete and would be removed in a future version of Windows.
