The Sopranos is one of the most important series in television history, and this year it turns 25. In 2024, the HBO fiction series starring James Gandolfini reaches a quarter of a century, and both the production company and the fans plan to celebrate it in all kinds of ways. Among them, there is one that stands out for being something completely unexpected for this series: through TikTok videos.

That’s right, Warner wanted to celebrate this anniversary in a very peculiar way on the social network that is trendy among Generation Z. They have edited all the episodes of the series, and when I say all, I mean all, to show 25-second videos of each one summarizing all of them. Perfect for those who watched it at the time and want to remember it… although maybe not so much for those who have never paid attention to it.

Is it worth watching The Sopranos 25 years later?

Apparently, this is a movement they want to repeat more and more on HBO Max. Warner Bros Discovery is very clear that TikTok is currently the platform where they can attract the largest number of new audience, and they are taking advantage of it through videos of their most famous and eye-catching series.

But it’s not the only way HBO Max has to celebrate the anniversary of The Sopranos. On the streaming platform itself, they have already added a section for the 25th anniversary of the series, where we can see lists of episodes including, for example, “The most shocking deaths”. But if spoilers are not your thing and you haven’t seen the series yet, it’s best to start watching it from scratch without knowing anything about it. Or, well, at least knowing its synopsis:

“The Sopranos is a chronicle of everyday life and the personal and professional adventures of a mafia family living in New Jersey. They are simple people, but relentless in their rituals and traditions. The plot is based on the confidences of capo Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) to his psychoanalyst, Dr. Melfi”.
