It has been more than a decade and a half with us, but Xbox Live Gold no longer exists. Microsoft decided just over 24 hours ago to give a definitive end to its monthly subscription service, the same one that allowed us to play online and offered us some video games with Games with Gold. Now, Live Gold disappears to make way for Xbox Game Pass Core.
Any player who is subscribed to Xbox Live Gold will automatically jump to Xbox Game Pass Core. There is absolutely nothing to do: the migration is instantaneous and validates the subscription time you have; in other words, if you still have 10 months of Live Gold left, you now have 10 months of Game Pass Core.
What is Xbox Game Pass Core?
Behind this name hides the lowest subscription tier that Xbox Game Pass will have. For only 6.99 euros -the same price as Xbox Live Gold-, any player can have access to a total of 36 video games. In addition, the catalog will be renewed once, twice or three times a year, so the available titles are rotating. The complete list so far is as follows:
- Among Us
- Dead Cells
- Dishonored 2
- Doom Eternal – Standard Edition
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4 – Standard Edition
- Gang Beasts
- Gears 5 – Game of the Year Edition
- Golf with your Friends
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- Ori & the Will of the Wisps
- Overcooked! 2
- Payday 2 – Crimewave Edition
- Powerwash Simulator
- Psychonauts 2
- Slay the Spire
- Spiritfarer – Farewell Edition
- Stardew Valley
- State of Decay 2 – Juggernaut Edition
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
- Vampire Survivors
The idea of removing Gold and launching this new Xbox Game Pass Core responds more than anything else to want to unite everything under the same name. Thus, all Microsoft subscription services are now collected under the title “Xbox Game Pass”.
