Netflix has gone all out with Avatar: The Last Airbender. The live-action remake of the early 2000s animated series was eagerly awaited after the success of One Piece. And although the reviews haven’t been as unanimous as with the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, it has managed to conquer a large part of the global platform’s audience.
Throughout eight episodes, the series has managed to retell the story from a much more realistic yet equally fantastical perspective. But the best is saved for last, as after the final chapter we have been able to see a post-credits scene that previews what could be the second season of the series. But what does this scene exactly mean? Let’s see.
Is the second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender confirmed?
In the post-credits scene of Avatar: The Last Airbender, we see the Great Sage, played by François Chau, guiding the Fire Lord (Daniel Dae Kim) through a fascinating planetarium. What captures the attention of the villain is the imminent appearance of Sozin’s Comet on the horizon, a celestial body named after a past Fire Lord and destined to return after a hundred-year period.
This comet, with its symbolic meaning and its cataclysmic potential, has been a crucial element since the early moments of the series, when its appearance marked the beginning of the brutal offensive of the Fire Nation against the airbenders. Known for granting overwhelming power to firebenders, the return of Sozin’s Comet represents a monumental opportunity for Lord Ozai, leader of the Fire Nation, to finally end the war that has devastated the world for a century.

However, even though the comet is approaching, there is still time before it reaches its closest point to Earth. This gives Aang, the Avatar, a precious margin to master the other elements and prepare for the inevitable confrontation. The potential impact of this cosmic event is so significant that it could influence the future of the elemental masters and the universe as a whole.
