Napoleon has been one of the most striking films of 2023. Although it has not been ranked among the best of the year, since its reviews were rather low compared to other films, it has gained the approval of a large part of the audience. The epic of war, the leading role of Joaquin Phoenix and the name of Ridley Scott turned out to be a guarantee for a cinema that was not at its best moment, although with its ups and downs in terms of box office.

Now, both for those who decided to wait to see it at home and for those who want to repeat the experience, we already have the release date of Napoleon on streaming. And we are not referring to its release on Apple TV+, where the launch date has not yet been confirmed, but to its arrival on rental and purchase platforms.

Joaquin Phoenix’s most successful movie of 2023… although not too much

The next January 9, 2024 Napoleon will be available for streaming on SVOD platforms. It will be available on Apple TV+, but also on Google Play and Amazon Prime Video. In all of them, the film about the former French military will be available for those who want to buy or rent it for a limited time.

The film barely exceeded its budget of 200 million dollars, with a box office of 206. However, the journey of Napoleon is going to be much longer than its time in theaters. Ridley Scott has confirmed that he created an extended 4-hour version that is the definitive cut of the film, and that it will eventually be available for streaming. Therefore, it might be better to wait and see what the director of Blade Runner has done with all the time in the world to create as he pleases.
