Netflix presented the first full trailer of the highly anticipated sequel to Happy Gilmore. The film, directed by Kyle Newacheck, features a script written by Tim Herlihy and the star Adam Sandler, ensuring that the characteristic humor of the first installment remains intact. It also includes several world-renowned guest stars.
Bad Bunny continues his career as an actor
The trailer reveals the return of several iconic actors from the original, including Christopher McDonald, who reprises his role as the antagonist Shooter McGavin. Julie Bowen also returns as Happy’s love interest, Virginia, while Ben Stiller and Dennis Dugan return in their respective roles, adding nostalgic value to the production. The sequel incorporates new cast members, including popular rapper Bad Bunny, actress Margaret Qualley, Nick Swardson, Benny Safdie, Scott Mescudi, and famous professional wrestler Jacob Friedman. Additionally, prominent NFL player Travis Kelce has described his involvement in the film as a “dream come true.”
Kelce shared his excitement on The Pat McAfee Show, expressing that he believed his appearance on Saturday Night Live would be the highlight of his entertainment career, but working alongside Adam Sandler has been an extraordinary experience. The original Happy Gilmore, which was released in 1996 and directed by Dennis Dugan, grossed over 82 million dollars worldwide, earning a place in the hearts of fans, as well as a solid fan base over the decades.
Happy Gilmore 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix on July 25, giving fans the chance to relive Happy’s antics in the world of golf. With a star-studded cast and a heavyweight script, the film promises to be a hit, although plot details are still scarce. Followers can expect a journey full of laughs and nostalgia.
