A fax and answering machine software with remote control
VentaFax & Voice is a complete communications system that works as fax, answering machine and voice recording device.
The program features an original interface that emulates a cutting-edge real fax machine, and with which you can actually interact by clicking on its buttons. Being a fax and voice machine, you obviously need a modem to work with VentaFax & Voice. You'll be then ready to send and receive faxes, answer incoming calls automatically, and even access the program remotely by using touch tones.
VentaFax & Voice is a comprehensive tool with loads of configuration options, but it's aimed at a very specific type of user and it may be not that clear for those of you who are not used to working with faxes – or modems, for that matter.
With VentaFax & Voice you can have a complete fax and voice communications systems on your computer.

Nice software but did not work reliably in our office.
The software interface and the set of options with VentaFax looked excellent for our small office. However, it chronically disconnected in the middle of receiving faxes that were longer than just a few pages. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Each time, we noted that the uninstall program switched to the Cyllic character set -- something was definitely wrong with the software. The reinstalls did not fix the problem. We bought a new fax modem, too, but that did not fix the problem. We even had our phone company visit our site to check the quality of the telephone line and there were no problems. We finally switched to SnappyFax and have had no problems. It is, however, a more expensive solution and the options and software user interface are not as easy to follow as those from VentaFax.FYI: Our setup was on a Dell server running Windows SBS 2003. We tried both a Rockwell and a Zoom modem.
Pros:
Great options, easy to follow user interface. It LOOKS LIKE it would be a great program, if it works on your computer.
Cons:
At our office, we could never get it to work reliably. Got some support emails with an unpleasant tone from the company that did not help at all so we had to switch to a another product. More
