Pros: Improves user productivity. Controls communication costs.

Cons: Activity feeds tab not available. Communication from within SharePoint not possible.

Pros: Your messages are encrypted so they cannot be stolen while transmitting. Each message will automatically delete itself after being read.

Cons: The paid version has very few extra features. Themes are pretty pointless decoration for your messenger interface.

Pros: More features than MSN. Extended customization. Usually allows use of webcams (although temporarily disabled in this update). Allows you to sign into multiple accounts at once.

Cons: Many users report problems opening webcams. Webcam/Audio support disabled in this update. Only supports audio clips not audio chats in realtime.
