Pros: You may still auto-resolve fights to help avoid the battle map. Plenty of new areas, map features, and units to play with.
Cons: There is too much micromanaging of armies on the strategy map. It still crashes a lot and there are no fixes available.
Pros: Great looking units and world. Lots to do. Interesting strategy. Deep resorce management.
Cons: Hard to see which unit is which zoomed out. Combat is stiff compared to some competition.
Pros: Changes improve all element of the gameplay. Technically excellent. Combat and unit variety is much greater.
Cons: Increased system requirements. Slow loads.
Pros: Great look and style. Novel setting and tale. Lots of twists on a classic formula.
Cons: Slightly clunky controls. Effects of the arcane can be hard to grasp.
Pros: Completes the brilliant campaign. Technically excellent. Classic real-time strategy action.
Cons: Problems with troop AI. No cover system.
Pros: Great blend of action and tactics. Deep upgrade trees. Great intuitive controls.
Cons: Technical issues abound. Visuals are bland.

Cons: Lack of depth may limit lasting appeal. Default colors are hard to distinguish.
Pros: Stunning design and world building. Accessible, but deep strategy combat. Wonderful, if depressing, narrative.
Cons: Random deaths will annoy perfectionists. Personally, I would love more voice work.
Pros: Oppressive and dripping with tense atmosphere. Intuitive point-and-click controls. Creates a real attachment to characters. Gets you really invested in the emergent narrative. Different.

Pros: Great mix of macro and micro tactics. Sliders to aim and move add real skill to combat. Great range of units. Fantastic experience for naval combat and WW2 enthusiasts.
Cons: Really one for genre fans. Not always the most visually impressive game. Takes some time to get the feel for it.
