It was hard to pull off a sequel with reusing what made the original too much. That is exactly what Valve was able to pull off. There is more emphasis on the story and character development this time around. The single player was great but the real star of the show was the co-op mode which transitions smoothly from the main campaign. One of the best co-op games around. Just fo play it. More

Cuphead is an incredible game that will surely make players feel nostalgic for a different era of gaming and of media in general, and its co-op features are pretty well executed as well. It seems to offer local co-op, and it might offer an online version at some point as well, though I can see lag perhaps being an issue here. If you have the setup for it, and have a friend with similar tastes in games (considering, perhaps, this game is not for everyone), Cuphead is just as enjoyable in co-op mode. More

If dark souls was a 2D platformer, this would be it. With the steam summer sale going on I wanted to look for new games that my friends and I could play together that would be quick and fun and I ran into Broforce. The game may have a funny sounding name, but it's a bit shooter that provides a ton of action and allows you to play with four friends at once. This lets us easily play in decent sized groups and all play the game together at the same time without feeling like we will be leaving anyone out on all the fun. Sure I would like to find a game that we could all play at once in the same group, but that's not really realistic. If you like retro games and you like the old bit graphics you will really like this game. More

This is a 2011 game which at this point is aged compared to other games. It is the type of game you should play with other people. A great expansion to an already good game. The introduction of a customizable buggy is fun and the story had quite a nice twist in the end. While it's perfectly playable as a single player campaign, you can invite 3 other friends along for more fun zombie-slaying action. More

Orcs Must Die! 2 isn't a solution the co-op(less) game problem on Steam but it is a step in the right direction being that the game is loads of fun and the added bonus of having a co-op to get help from others is heavenly. More games on Steam should have co-op capabilities included. More

A game that helped revive the tower defense genre for PCs and consoles. The first one was completely a one-man play affair. This time around, the game encourages cooperative gameplay which should have been the case from the start as it makes more sense is more fun this way. More

Lol the orcs come from the lord of the rings. I like playing as the sorceress due to her long range. Which traps to set is a real consideration and my partner has to be familiar with the traps and timings of the mage. Overall I like the fast paced feel of this game. More

Battleblock has the ability to play co-op, but it will only be up to two players. There are plenty limitations to this game from its hand-drawn graphics and lack of story, but for a quick time killer with you and a friend - its not terrible. If you're looking for more than 2 players... look elsewhere! More

Having used steam for a year I really love the co-op games. I tried playing alien swarm: reactive drop last week. Gave it a chance but not overly happy with it. There's a lot going on and too much in terms of graphics that distract from the game itself. sometimes less is more. More

This game used to be fun, but now it feels completely pay-to-win. Due to this business model a lot of people have stopped playing. I get on every once in a while to see if anything has changed, but I keep being greeted by bots. I would still recommend it as a single player game, but if you're looking for co-op I'd give it a pass. More

I did giant robots. HAWKEN has giant robots. My only complaint is that they're not giant enough. But it's an interesting entry into the multiplayer mech combat genre. I spent about five hours playing it until I got bored and moved on to something else, which is probably a record for me, since I get bored easily. More

I love the Game Workshop tabletop games, so I decided to try out Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. I thought I would enjoy it since I usually love games like this, but it was awful. The graphics are not that good and the game-play is boring and repetitive. Many of the missions are too difficult to win. I would not recommend this game to anyone. More

I don't think this site is very useful to help with co-op of games at all. This is a great place for other things but not for the issue at hand.

This classic game has been updated for Steam, and if you are into this sort of thing, it is a great. You don't need to have played it before, but you do need to be interested in building civilizations. For me, that is great! I love this sort of thing, and the more additions and tweaks they make to the game, the more realistic it becomes. There are so many variables and the designers seem to have covered a lot of them. For me, this is one of the best sort of co-op games, since you feel like you are thinking about how things work in actual history and not in some fantasy gameworld, so it is easy to get involved from the start. More
