This app is slow. Unbelievably slow actually. I have a fast wifi connection at home and still took a long time to load every page i tried to view.

This app is good for figuring out transportation, but I really want an app that tells me all the best places to go in a city that I'm not familiar with. There's really no use in knowing how to get places if I don't know where I want to go. I want an app that helps me figure out the best places to visit for various things. More

TripAdvisor is a great way to get reviews on places you want to travel. Beware that not all reviews are authentic, but for the most part I use this to research places I want to travel.

I found that Spotted by Locals app is pretty good if it used in one of the 68 cities that it covers. I could look for actual spots that locals frequent without all the tourist traps and other nonsense. I recommend this for those who want serious recommendations on where to go when visiting a new location. More

My absolute favorite part of this app is that it can be used offline. The downside is that guides aren't available for many cities, but this is a "pay as you go" type of app so I only pay for the guides I'm using. These guides don't give my tourist trap areas, but unique experiences. More

Fever offers a wide range of activities. It even lets you purchase what's needed for specific events. No matter what you're looking for Fever will most likely be able to help, everything from dancing to simply having dinner. While the activities are extensive, the listed cities are still on the low side. But, if you find yourself spending some time in a major city then I highly recommend Fever. More

All Events is great for figuring out what's going on around you so you can learn if there's any big events you'd like to go to, or bring friends to. You can also search events by trending to see what are the big popular events happening, so that way you can figure out what's "hip" in your city, or a city you'll be visiting soon. Plus, you can follow artists or similar events so you can get notifications for if they're coming to your city. I always have this to make sure I don't miss any good events. More

After graduating from college and moving to a new city, I found myself looking for a way to help guide me around town and introduce me to the best spots to eat and things to do. After a quick search, I installed Time Out on my iphone. With Time Out, I'm able to plan events, find great new spots to eat, and even save everything to my favorites list! I now travel a lot for work, and I even use it when I'm away on business. I even use it when I travel too. It's a great app to have on your phone! More
