Cartoon Maker is fairly basic but has a few tools to play around with your photos. While you won't ever be able to get into deep editing, you'll be able to apply different distortion and twist effects of which you can modulate the intensity. If you want to take the outline of a picture you can use the sketch tool. We suggest setting it at near maximum though if you want to capture the majority of the lines in the photo.

Despite the fact that you can only save to three image formats (jpg, bmp, wmf), Cartoon Maker is a good application if you're looking to quickly create distorted images of your friends.

FotoMorph now gives you the chance to apply diverse effects to your photos (zoom & pan, morphing and warping) really easily. With these effects you can make somebody in a picture gradually turn into another person, or apply some slight movements to their facial expression. The effect is achieved by creating intermediate images (frames) based on highlighted transition points.

With FotoMorph the whole process is really easy. First of all, bear in mind that this program is mainly intended for people who have little or no knowledge of photo editing at all. Power users may find it then a bit too simple but in any case it works really well for a quick morphing effect.

Simply run it (no installation required) and load a photo. Then start deforming the image with the mouse's right button and see how it's coming out in real time. At the beginning it'll all look weird but soon you'll get the knack of it. The overlaid grid also helps to achieve better results. Just one thing: you really need to be careful because DeformerPro only supports a one-level undo.

Once you like the final image (you can get a better look by temporarily disabling the grid) you'll be able to save it as JPG, BMP or PNG, ready to be published online or shared by email. Just be careful not to hurt other people's feelings!

Though probably too simple for expert image editors, DeformerPro is a great tool to apply warping effects to your photos in no time.

At least that's what the author's description says, although I must say that the reality is quite different.

But the lack of advanced options (there's only one single slider) makes the result quite disappointing. I'd rather define this plug-in as a pseudo-morphing tool to have fun with your friend's pictures, than as an app to change facial expressions.

Morpheus Photo Morpher starts up with a very useful wizard that will guide beginners. The program also displays side notes in a separate window so you'll know know what to do, in what order and what the various features actually do.

You start off by selecting the two pictures that you wish to morph. Then you need to place dots on your pictures to let the program know the areas of the photos affected by the morphing effect. It's very easy to place the dots but a little less intuitive to remove them. Morpheus Photo Morpher has a preview window from which you can monitor your changes.

Abrosoft FantaMorph stands out for its ease of use. Once you launch the program and pass the morphing capacity diagnosis test, a wizard leads you through the process of creating a morphing or warping effect. The first one creates a transition animation between two pictures, whilst the second one generates an animation based on a single picture.

Morphing is based on dots that you place on the picture to point out the exact areas Abrosoft FantaMorph will use to create the animation effect. So for example, to create a morphing effect between two close-ups, you add dots around the face, eyes, nose and so on, creating a dotted outline of the source image and arranging these same dots to coincide with the face, eyes, nose and everything else in the target image. So, the more dots you have, the more realistic your effect will look.

Abrosoft FantaMorph does a good job at managing the dots: you can add them simultaneously to both photos, move them around easily, lay a grid over the image for improved accuracy or even zoom in on the picture. However, the zoom tool makes it a pain to move around the image as the Abrosoft FantaMorph working area is pretty small and cannot be resized. The same objection stands for the interface buttons, which are too small.

If the morphing and warping are not enough, Abrosoft FantaMorph features a wide range of effects to apply to your pictures, such as background images, masks, music and transition effects. You can select them through the wizard or from the program's interface, and see how they look like in the preview window. When your project is finished, Abrosoft FantaMorph lets you export it as an AVI video, an image sequence, a webpage or even a screensaver.

If you want to create an appealing morphing effect in a surprisingly easy way, Abrosoft FantaMorph is definitely the application you're looking for.

Creating a compelling image or video can be quite difficult, especially if you want to superimpose one image or video clip over another. There are programs out there such as Windows Movie Maker that are capable of such alterations though. Sqirlz Morph is one of them.

One of the greatest advantages of Sqirlz Morph is that it's easy to use. In addition to pictures, one of Sqirlz Morph's perks is that you can save animation as an AVI, Flash file (SWF) or even as an animated GIF.

Even though the program is not as intuitive as other similar tools – it doesn't the traditional dot system, but a shape one instead – it's still a fairly easy way to create eye-catching animations with almost no effort.

Warping effects enable you to change the expression on a face or modify the shape of any given object on a picture, while morphing effects involve a smooth transition from one photo to another. In case you need any help, the program includes some basic tutorials to get you started.

This easy-to-use app lets you apply hilarious warping effects to any image. The best thing about Cartoonist is that it doesn't require any technical or artistic skills. All you have to do is load the photo on the program's interface, set the warping radius size and click wherever you want to apply the effect.

Cartoonist lets you zoom in and out the photo to work more comfortably, undo any changes you apply (though only up to the last five actions) and also revert all changes to the original photo at any time. Once you're done, you can save the image in a variety of formats (JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG and TIFF).
