App of the week: QuizUp for iOS and Android

QuizUp is not your average quiz game. Well, it kind of is, as far as answering questions go, but it’s got a lot of extra features that make it a lot more appealing to play, not to mention a great user interface.

Its two biggest bonuses are the number of quizzes it has, and the fact that you can play against your friends. QuizUp has a huge database of quizzes for almost any topic you can think of, and the quizzes are limited to a mere 7 questions per match, making gameplay really quick.

If you’ve got a competitive streak, you can challenge (and re-challenge) friends, and see a comparative history of each match you’ve played. You move up in the ranks as you play more quizzes in the same category.

Overall, QuizUp is a great game to kill some time, play with friends, and completely geek out on your favorite topics.
