iOS settings iconApple has just pushed iOS 6.1.3 to users, fixing the lock screen vulnerability that was brought to light a few weeks ago. The official changelog only contains a sentence stating, “This update contains improvements and bug fixes.”

Other minor updates in this release include improved maps for Japan and various other security patches. Although there are no explicit security patches mentioned, it’s safe to assume that Apple has closed the exploit the evad3rs team was using to jailbreak the operating system.

To get the latest update, head over to the settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch and check for updates. The update is a relatively small 17MB and should install quickly. Make sure your phone has sufficient battery power or plug in when you install the software.
