Apple today launched Shop with a Specialist over Video, a new shopping experience now available in the United States. A system that connects customers looking to buy an iPhone with a member of the sales team via video call.

So now we can talk to someone to recommend a specific phone, resolve doubts, ask questions and decide what exactly is the iPhone we need. All this, while we are shown color options, specific offers to deliver our current phone and even financing through operators.

A much more versatile online shopping service

For now, this new type of purchase is only available in the United States and for the iPhone, but it is expected to expand both in number of products and to different countries. It is a step beyond the current Shop with a Specialist, which already allows us to book a time for someone at an Apple Store to advise us during the purchase process. Now, everything can happen remotely and, when finished, we receive the iPhone at home. So said Karen Rasmussen, head of Apple’s Online Retail:

“We are constantly innovating to deliver an even more personalized experience for our customers, meeting them where they are to deliver the best of Apple. With Shop with a Specialist over Video, our team members are excited to connect with customers and provide exceptional service while learning about which iPhone suits them best.”

To access the service, all we have to do is log on to apple.com and in just a few clicks, we can start talking to someone at Apple. A service that is available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Pacific time) every working day. Meanwhile, any other questions we have, can be resolved by phone or chat 24 hours a day.

An initiative that helps to reduce the waiting time at an Apple Store. Something that, it is also true, allows us to see the devices first hand, but sometimes, due to availability, is not the most convenient option. While we wait for this service to be extended to more countries, it is clear that Apple is preparing all resources to make buying the new iPhone 14 in yellow or the future iPhone 15 (or perhaps the iPhone 15 Pro) as easy as possible.
