The anticipation surrounding iPhones is always immense. Every year, rumors flood social media and the media, discussing even the smallest detail of the new phones Apple is preparing for September. This year, with the iPhone 15 just around the corner, it’s evident that the focus is on the colors.

Yes, other years we have also talked about this topic, but it seems that this time, especially with the change of materials in the Pro range and the tug of war of rumors that have told us about reds, oranges, pinks and other peculiar colors, the interest is exceptionally high.

All colors in sight

Sonny Dickson, a well-known leaker in the tech world, has come to provide the final word on the subject of this year’s iPhone colors. He has done so through a couple of images that he claims are mockups of the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, offering a much more detailed view of the design and aesthetics of these devices, which are expected to be announced at Apple’s “Wonderlust” event on September 12th.

The shared photos showcase the iPhone 15 in five different colors: black, pink, yellow, blue, and green. There’s a noticeable shift towards a slightly more subdued and desaturated color palette, in line with the reports that have been leaked over the past year.

Regarding the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, it’s expected that the available colors will be silver, gray, black, and blue, notably excluding the gold color. This would mark the first time that Apple chooses not to offer a gold option since the launch of the iPhone X. The colors, as seen in the photo, maintain a fairly close relationship. Setting aside the standout white, the black, blue, and gray variants are quite similar, each with their own color touch.

Maximum reliability, but not complete guarantee

Although several other colors have been rumored in recent weeks, these images could be the most accurate indication of what’s to come. Why? Because if the photos align with what the leaker claims, these dummy units come directly from Apple.

Every year, Apple provides certain accessory manufacturers with empty units that reflect the final design of the phone in terms of measurements and colors. This way, these manufacturers can have cases and other items ready for the launch day.

However, we cannot assert that there have been no changes in colors from the time these units were provided until now or the day of the launch. Thus, these photos provide the best approximation of what’s to come, but, as always, we should approach it with some skepticism.

With Apple’s “Wonderlust” event just around the corner and the possibility of revealing the iPhone colors, excitement is at its peak. The entire iPhone 15 lineup is expected to be announced at this event, with the launch likely happening the following week. Sonny Dickson’s photos have done more than enough to rev up the anticipation and generate even more excitement before Apple’s big announcement.

While these are mockups and not actual units, the images are consistent with a variety of reports and rumors that have circulated previously. Beyond the colors, what’s certain is that the iPhone 15 seems to be shaping up as a device that combines the familiar with the surprising, aiming to change several key design points of the iPhone. As we count down the days until the “Wonderlust” event, these leaks keep us eagerly awaiting possible innovations, confident that Apple has a trick up its sleeve.
