Week 7 is sure to be a busy week for Fortnite’s challenge seekers. In addition to the usual slate of weekly challenges, the new limited time Ice Storm event boasts its own challenge set. Check out our guide to the Ice Storm challenges here, and read on to see how to complete the usual Week 7 challenges.
Fortnite Season 7, Week 7 Challenge Guide
Visit All Expedition Outposts
The first challenge tasks you with visiting all seven of the new Expedition Outposts that have appeared around the map since the start of Season 7. You’ll know you’ve found them when you spot a large, red structure emblazoned with the white Expedition logo.
All you need to do to “visit” the outpost is walk up to it. You should see the challenge pop-up appear to mark the visit as complete. The outposts themselves are spread evenly across the map. Theoretically, you could visit all of them in a single match, but more likely it will take you a few matches to complete this challenge. Check out the map to their specific locations below:
Use a Rift or Rift-to-Go in different matches
Players will remember Rifts as the strange phenomenon introduced back in Season 5. They appear as small portals that teleport players high into the sky before dropping them back onto the island. This challenge tasks players with using 3 rifts over the course of different matches. Using the Rift-to-Go item is one way to complete the challenge, but you can also find rifts in certain locations around the map. This might be an easier method to complete the challenge than hoping for a random Rift-to-Go in a loot drop. To find these ambient Rifts, check out the locations marked on the map below:
Pistol Eliminations
Get your trigger finger ready: this challenge tasks you with taking out three players using pistols. With the recent additions of the Scoped Revolver and Dual Pistols to the game’s weapons roster, you’ll have plenty of pistol options that you can use to finish this challenge.
Landing Challenge
This is a multi-stage landing challenge that should be familiar to most Fortnite players. Simply drop in on the specified locations to progress the challenge. Here’s the order:
- Stage 1: Land at Salty Springs
- Stage 2: Land at Happy Hamlet
- Stage 3: Land at Wailing Woods
- Stage 4: Land at Junk Junction
- Stage 5: Land at Paradise Palms
Search Chests at Loot Lake or Frosty Flights
This challenge tasks players with searching 7 chests at either Loot Lake or Frosty Flights. Though this seems like a simple task, don’t let your guard down. These are locations that tend to be very high traffic areas, so you should watch your back while you search. Try dropping in at the location that’s furthest away from the Battle Bus route to avoid other players and keep those chest to yourself. Both locations boast plentiful chest spawns, so it’s possible to complete this challenge in one swoop.
Destroy flying X-4 Stormwings
This is probably the most difficult challenge on the Week’s list. You only need to complete one task: destroy an X-4 Stormwing while it’s in the air. You’ve got two approaches: take to the skies with another plane and engage players in a dogfight, or shoot from the ground. Personally, we found that shooting from the ground was a bit easier: some of the higher damage weapons can make short work of a plane, and it’s harder for mid-air pilots to take out a smaller target. If you do decide to take the aerial route, however, check out our guide to plane combat for some tips for taking down an enemy quickly.
Multi-Stage Damage Challenge
The final task on the slate is another old standby. This is a multi-stage damage challenge, but instead of focusing on the weapon you use, it simply concentrates on the amount of damage you deal.
- Stage 1: Deal 200 damage to opponents in a single match.
- Stage 2: Deal 300 damage to opponents in a single match.
- Stage 3: Deal 400 damage to opponents in a single match.
Trying to complete this challenge in a traditional Battle Royale mode is a tall order. We recommend hopping into one of the larger team-based game modes: the rounds last longer and you’re able to respawn, so it shouldn’t be to hard to hit the numbers required by the challenge.
With that, you’ll have completed one more week of challenges. You can’t come in from the cold yet, though. Bundle up and keep plugging away at those Ice Storm challenges while you wait for Week 8.
