Disney dropped their first teaser trailer for “Frozen II” today and it looks, uh, dark.
As the trailer begins, Elsa is stuck on a beach somewhere, determined to escape by running out on the ocean and using her freezing powers to solidify the water as she runs on it. Looks like she’s going to have some trouble escaping, but it’s not for lack of trying.

We also see Kristoff riding with a herd of reindeer and looking determined.

What’s crazy is that this trailer comes off more as a superhero movie with all its ominous drums, grim faces, and action shots. Maybe they’re setting up Elsa to join the MCU? We’d love to see a duet between her and Tony Stark. (“Would you like to build a suit of nanotech armor?”)
Frozen 2 is scheduled to blow into theaters November 22.
