Today, GTA Online has received one of its biggest updates in preparation for Christmas. The catch is that next week, there won’t be a new one; we’ll have to wait until December 11th for more. Why? Well, it seems highly likely that next week we’ll get the launch trailer for GTA 6, which, as known, Rockstar Games previously announced would be available in early December.
Beyond that, this week is packed with novelties. To begin with, this winter, we’ll have a new illicit scrapyard business fueled by vehicle thefts. It’s about stealing, dismantling, and selling the most demanded vehicles. To do this, we’ll have to contact a familiar face who has moved to the West Coast: Yusuf Amir, the illustrious real estate developer from Liberty City.
“Yusuf continues to enjoy the finer things in life, with the primary being to expand his collection of luxury vehicles by any means necessary. With the help of his cousin Jamal, you’ll need to plan and execute intricate high-risk thefts using Red’s Auto Parts, a new scrapyard you can purchase to run the show. Sell your best loot to Yusuf or dismantle them to sell as parts. The decision (and the money) is in your hands,” Rockstar Games notes about the arrival of a classic from The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Moreover, racing enthusiasts have a new way to win in GTA Online with the new drifting upgrade for selected vehicles and the Drift Race Series. Drivers can test their skill in getting sideways on a series of new tracks. Additionally, when you visit the LS Car Meet, some vehicles can be modified with a drifting tuning that brings all the fun of drifting into Free Mode.
“As we continue to leverage the recent hardware of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, the December update will include new features for players on these new systems,” the studio indicates before listing all the inclusions that come as additions:
- Wildlife arrives in Free Mode: now animals roam the landscape of southern San Andreas in GTA Online for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
- GTA+ members can access the Vinewood club garage, a new storage facility with space for 100 vehicles.
- Players on PS5 and Xbox Series can more comfortably organize and manage vehicle collections through the Interaction menu, where they can easily move them from one garage to another.
The above is exclusive to the new generation, while the following arrives for all available platforms:
- A streamlined new Interaction menu for easier navigation.
- More LS Car Meet reputation points for competing in urban and pursuit races.
- New specifications service in the LS Car Meet, allowing the purchase of copies of another player’s personal vehicle on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
- Custom description tags for each floor of the Eclipse Boulevard garage.
- Voice chat on consoles is now disabled by default.
- A small birthday gift for all players on their character’s birthday.
- Limited-time Rockstar Games 25th-anniversary clothing available in the game.
