You’d be very hard-pressed to find someone with a smartphone who doesn’t use Whatsapp, whether they have an iPhone or an Android phone. Whatsapp has become so popular, in fact, that you can even use it on your PC or Mac. Of course, with the ease at which we can communicate these days, it’s so much easier for the people that we try to avoid to contact us. Luckily, it’s straightforward to block a particularly annoying person on Whatsapp, and we’ll walk you through this process in this guide.
How to Block Someone on Whatsapp
It is possible to unblock someone once you’ve blocked them, so rest assured that if you accidentally block the wrong person or have a change of heart later, you will be able to reverse the process very easily. Now, let’s jump right in!
Step 1: Open settings
First, start up your Whatsapp and select the conversation with the person that you want to block. Then tap on the three dots in the top right-hand corner.
Step 2: Find the Block function
Then tap on More and tap on Block.
Step 3: Block the contact person
Then tap on Block again on the pop-up window, and the person will be blocked. You can also select Report and Block if the person is sending you spam or attempting to scam you. This will send a report to Whatsapp, and they will investigate the person’s profile and take further action if needed.
No More Drama for that Llama
Whether it’s that ex who keeps on begging you to take them back, or that friend who always wants to gossip about other people, or even just a “Nigerian prince” who keeps on spamming you for money, the block feature on Whatsapp is incredibly useful for keeping your life free from people who want to interrupt your day-to-day life with their drama. Social media has brought so many people together in so many ways and has created amazing connections between people. Unfortunately, there will always be people who abuse these things, but luckily, blocking them is as simple as counting to three.
